One of our favourite childhood memories? Camping underneath the twinkling stars safe with our families; cosy in our flannel sleeping bags, tummies full of s’mores and overcooked hot-dogs. The nights were crisp, but our hearts were warm.

Does this bring any nostalgia back for you? It sure does for us!

If you’re lucky enough to live here, you’ll know that Port Alberni is a growing city! Located in the heart of Vancouver Island, we have people relocating here from all corners of our province, across the country, and from the States. Ask anyone what their favourite childhood memory is, and often it’s of summer vacations spent with their families at the cottage or lake home. Located 13 km northwest of the city of Port Alberni (population approx. 17, 000), which is situated in the south-central heart of Vancouver Island mid-way to Tofino and Ucluelet. With 2015 in our back pocket, we’ve launched into 2016 with a sellers market in Port Alberni and surrounding area. Houses are flying off the shelves of the real estate market and we have the SOLD signs to prove it!

Right now in Port Alberni and on Sproat Lake, inventory is low and the buyers who are looking are active and motivated, making it an excellent time to put your house on the market before spring hits.

For sellers, preparation is key. Make sure your home is clean and clutter-free to appeal to potential buyers. Removing personal touches may seem unfamiliar at first, but it helps buyers picture themselves living in your home. You can make potential buyers feel welcome with small touches like colourful, cosy throws on the couch and ensuring

Some of you in Port may have seen the Dave Team out and about filming yesterday! We took our trusty iPhones to some of our favourite local spots to answer your frequently asked questions. As we upload the videos, you may spot us at the Harbour Quay, the Maritime Museum, at Drinkwaters on Sproat Lake, and even in Dave's truck!

Pictured here is Randi, Elle, and Dave at Harbour Quay.
