It doesn’t need to be prime summer season to enjoy the benefits of a vacation (or living) on a lake! Residents and visitors to Port Alberni’s Sproat Lake know this well. Sproat Lake offers a variety of vacation rentals, year round homes and recreational properties.
This fall, Randi and her daughter Steph tried a Sproat Lake winter mother-daughter getaway… and they loved it! Randi and Steph stayed at Stirling Arm Lakehouse right on Sproat Lake.
The lakehouse offers visitors stunning south exposure on Stirling Arm with 160 degrees of water views. Amenities include: private sun decks, propane fireplaces, pool table and media room, downstairs bar kitchen, hot tub, bbq, sun deck with propane fire pit, four grass terraces and large dock with a boat slip that is accessible year round!
Randi and Steph took full advantage of where they were staying! They enjoyed some quiet time together as well as some outdoor adventure, including a kayak trip in the snow over to team member John and Janice Clarke’s getaway cottage! Lucky for them, they had a hot tub to jump in at the Lakehouse following their trek to warm up!
Sproat Lake is a unique spot. Located only 13km from Port Alberni, it provides residents with everything they want out of lake living (quiet, outdoor adventure and water sports), but in close proximity to all of the amenities they need to live year round.
Sproat Lake has something for everyone. The lake can be broken down into three different real estate areas:
● Taylor Arm: Quiet area of the lake that features mostly recreational cabins with road access.
● Dog Mountain: Another quiet area that is boat access only cabins and lots.
● Stirling Arm Drive and Faber Road: These spots are busier and more populated, as well as closer to town. Stirling Arm Drive features many larger homes and year round residents.
What draws most people to Sproat Lake is the ability to have outdoors at their fingertips. Many love the fresh water to fish, boat, water ski, swim and kayak, while others love that four provincial parks border Sproat Lake that each have various camping opportunities and hiking trails to explore.
Sproat Lake’s newest addition, Sproat Lake Landing adds to the appeal of the area. Sproat Lake Landing is a resort that is also home to Drinkwater’s, a lounge and restaurant. Sproat Lake Landing also has a cafe and store as well as various outdoor activities, like stand up paddle boarding and kayaking, and adventure trips, like boat tours!
