When buyers are looking to purchase a home, they are looking at more than what appliances are in the kitchen, or how much storage space there is – perhaps you’ve heard it before; location, location, location!
As well as purchasing the actual home, home buyers are buying a lifestyle; which is greatly influenced by the entire neighbourhood. For this reason, different neighbourhoods attract different types of buyers.
Port Alberni has a “twin city” status; natural ravines – Rogers Creek and Dry Creek –which break up the city into South Port Alberni and North Port Alberni. Each “city” gives residents unique landscapes, amenities and property types. In the valley, you will also hear people talk about “upper and lower” parts of North and South Alberni. Since Port Alberni is built on a hill, this mention of upper and lower references the part of the hill. Typically, house values will tend to increase as you go up the hill, and will decrease in the lower portions.
Today, we are drilling down and taking an in-depth look at the up-and-coming neighbourhoods and new developments within North Port Alberni.
One of the leading rural areas in North Alberni is Cherry Creek, where residents enjoy small acreages and a peaceful way of life. Cherry Creek is not too far from town and is home to the Alberni Golf Club. This area showcases prestige homes and typically attracts an affluent homebuyer.
